Ive just got my fiesta zetec, its a 99 5dr.
Its had a sony tape player put in place of the original. The thing is, there are no rear speakers, just the large one sin the door, then the small ones near the door handle. I've had a look at the rear speaker mounts and have some old blaupunkt 10cm speakers that seem to fit perfectly.

Is this normal on a fiesta, or have the rear speakers been taken out of the car before it was sold?

The wiring on the back of the tape player has the front and rear cableds plugged in, and I assume that the rear ones are the small speakers, is this correct?

Would I just be able to get the speakers i have in the back and make a retaining plate then remove the cables from the bakc of the tape player, and where the rear cables go have the cables from the speakers I've put in, instead of the small speakers in the door.

This sounds stupidly complicated know I've written it down, help would be much appreciated if you understand what I'm on about.

Thanks.

the rear speakers are fitted either side of the parcel shelf.

depending on the model of fiesta it could have had 2,4 or 6 speaker audio.

In 4 speaker guise it was a 13cm midrange in the door bottom and a tweeter near the inner door handle

6 speaker had 10cm units in the back while 2 speaker systems lost the tweeters

ah right, that'll be what it is. I have the 13 in the door and the tweeter. If I put the 10cm speakers I have in the back and just replace the wire which comes from the tweeter with the wire from my new speakers, that should work right?

Neither me or my dad know much about audio really, my dad knows alot about cars and laying the wiring is fine, he's completeley rewired a 3000M from scratch, (also pretty much revuilt the car nut by nut.

We have a friend who use to fit car stereos, would you say it would be best to go to him before we try and is it pretty simple.

the tape player is a Sony XR-CA630X.
The two extra speakers I have are Blaupunkt blue magic 25W 4 ohm speakers (think they're blue magic).

Leave the front doors alone tweeters are on the same speaker output as the mid bass , look at the back of your radio , to see if you have rear speakers allready wired , on your adaptor , you are looking for the green and puple speaker wires, if the ford ones are there , then go to the back of the car and have a good rummage around the plastic bits each side of the parcle shelf , they might be tucked up behind the wires are terminated with a yellow t connector . so should be easy to find

Well, the green and purple wires were there, so the wires may have been lying around somewhere, they may actually have been moved to the front of the car, but anyway, got the speakers fixed in with a brilliant bodge from my dad involving some metal from an old PC case and some bolts.

We used the break in connector things, that you put the two wires into and then clamp a metal plate down. They work and sound fine. Hopefully they won't go boom in a week or two, .
anyway, I'm still only a learner and my dad won't let me have music on becuase it will distract me, fair enough, can't wait till I pass.
