Just watched at the 911 drove off down the road with its new owner - such a sad day for me. It really was a fantastic car and I enjoyed every minute with it, but the reality was that I just wasn't using it anymore as my work is now based at home and I can't afford for it to be depreciating on the drive. Maybe there's also a little bit of me that fancied a change too... scratchchin

The (current) plan is to get a GT3 in a year or so when I've saved up a bit more cash but I'm not sure I can be Porsche-less for that long. I always wanted a 993 and still think they're a fantastic looking car so maybe I go down that route, hmmm a C2 - now that could be interesting with a trip to Ninemeister yum

I feel all lonely and empty now - I think I'd better go and have a lie down...

I'd have thought working from home and doing less miles means you can have something MORE exotic - or less practical?

no need for the daily grind and all that - and a lovely 911 for the weekends?

I've got an old A4 for the motorway and towing and a race prepared Westfield for the track and sunny blats. The reasoning behind the GT3 was that it was a nice halfway house between the "sporty" C4 and the "mental" Westfield. I'd like to keep the Westy though as I've put so much personal time and effort into getting right, so I was thinking of a 993C2 with the Ninemeister/4Tech billet heads. 10k+ for that seems a bit steep though

Slap on a supercharger for half that price.

aye - get a 993 before they get too old, every man should do it once in a life!

Kenny - looking at your profile, you've had a few 993s. Which has been your favourite and why?

if I could only keep one I would keep my current one - the tt, mainly because it's abilities are quite a bit higher than the carreras I've had. The muscular power is intoxicating and the all weather grip is astounding. And I think the aggressive looks on the tt are the best too.

But if I could afford it I'd have:

a tt for the street, touring etc.
a standard C2 manual, no sunroof with M030 for track days.

There's nothing like a varioram 993 revving it through the gears... I miss the sound, the power delivery..and the fact that you're not snatching the next gear every 2 seconds as you are in the tt!

Hope that helps arwebs - I get pretty verbose when I talk about 993's...well anything really.

LOL - be as verbose as you like laugh

I am swayed towards the C2 (with a few chioce mods) but I don't know if I should shut the door on the C4. There's a very nice looking one for sale at the moment here - if only it were a C2...

that's gorgeous isn't it....lovely example.

IMO the C4's are fantastic when you're not in 100% concentration mode.....but when you want to be the C2 is the one.

I can feel the weight difference of a C4 over a 2 also - but only when really charging hard.

Let us know what you decide.
