Soft Top Roof Care

Hi all

I have just purchesed my first Mini (04 Cooper S Convertible) and am loving it. As this is the first soft top car I have owned I wonder if I could get some advice on how to care for the roof.

Is it ok simply to wash it with normal autoglym car shampoo or do I need a specialist cleaner?

The roof is black but there are some lighter(faded slightly would be the best description) areas around the folds and across the top (where it folds again I presume) Is there a way I can care for/restore these areas. They are not obvious at all but you know what it's like when you get a new car.

Any kind of advice or help would be much appreciated.

Just wash as normal with soapy water an sponge, i dont know of any way to get red of the lines, the only thing to do is raise the point with the service people at yor dealers, as the car will still be in warranty as the first convs werent launched till june july time 2004
