rocker cover tool

Decided to look & check that all the bolts were tight.. but after a pal & I emptied our toolboxes we still couldnt find a correct socket that gave decent enough access for the inner ones. Most of mine are hex so not great grip.. he had some decent 12 point ones but too wide at the far end for access.
Anyone know where I can get the right tool? Will be taking them off at some point for a refurb this year so would be handy!

A pain in the @ss those things huh?! I've thought about trying to get hold of some of those 'T' bolts often seen on rocker covers of old yanky iron. Never seen 'em mentioned within these pages though; maybe there's not enough room to swing those inboard.

Popped in .. had a looksee.. gave up & asked. The only solution the one in Bracknell could provide would be about £30 built from bits. Looked nice. Rachet & extension from the 'behind the glass door' range.

Nah, just get an individual long reach 8mm socket from the tools section. It has to be 3/8 drive as the 1/4 drive ones are hex, wheras the 3/8 are multi point. So long as you have a 3/8 ratchet or "T" bar and a short extension your away.

Ya mine was a tight squeeze also.. especially the offside rocker with those bloody pipes in the way (500 serp). I found a deep 8mm bi-hex socket with 1/4 drive from Cromwell Tools (www.cromwell.co.uk) for about £4.. bargain..
