help needed quickly

Why is it everything is going great ,then along comes this big spanner in the works,Went to work today turnt engine off,went to use the car again and nothing,no turn over ,nothing at all,the battery is not flat all the obvious leads and such seem okay,but nothing on the key not even a click any ideas!

I had a problem with the switch terminal on the solenoid of the starter motor, sometimes it would go other times nothing. I found the terminal was loose in the housing and made the connection sometimes but not others so I had to replace the starter motor.

No doubt there will be other reasons for what you are experiencing but it sounds so similar to mine. I hope you get it fixed easily... good luck

I think there is a connector block under the steering column that is prone to fail , its a long shot but worth a try if nothing else sorts your problem.

Could be - but usually it's the ignition terminal that burns out with the result that the "start" position works but the "ignition" one doesn't - so the engine spins over like a good un, but there's no spark to start it. So normally different symptoms from those described.

Could it be an immobiliser problem?

engine does not spin,no noise at all ,it will bump start but once ignition is turn`ed off will not restart with key ,when i turn ignition on the dash lights all come on as they should ,but when i go to the third position on ignition there is nothing no click nada!

If you have a voltmeter, put the + probe on terminal 50 on the rear of the Ignition sw (should have a White/Red wire on it) and the - probe to a good earth point, try the key in the various positions,I think it should have 12v approx in the "fully turned" position,
terminal 30 is the red feed to the switch,term R (yellow wire) feeds out to the radio and term 15 (black wire) feeds the fuses for ancilliaries etc.
I think you may have a duff solenoid though as this wire also connects with the hot and cold start devices so I would have thought it would be a pig to bump start if there was no feed there.At least if you find it to be feeding ok, you can rule out the ignition sw and move to the next item down the line.
