We've got a Medion MDPNA175 which we bought as an end-of-line bargain price of about £150 a year or so ago. It's got a decent sized touch screen, UK + Ireland maps, and all the feature you could reasonably want except (admittedly) full postcode search. Directions are clear, and perhaps even better than those from the Garmins my dad and father in law both have. The software takes a little while to boot up when you first turn it on, and takes a while to calculate a long route, but once you're on the move it updates very quickly when required. It was far far cheaper at the time than any other brand one with decent sized touch screen. If you see one for that price you can't go far wrong.....

I've a Medion satnav pda phone, quite good gps software easy to use & quite functional, i assume its similar software on the standalone units. I rate it quite good.
