Hello everyone,

Am buying an RX-8 in the next few weeks and have read in 2006 Mazda recalled 04,05 and some 06 cars as there was a problem with the engine and that any car that they found didn't have a problem the car had its PCM updated to provide more oil injection at idle.

Can anyone tell me if this is true and is it something I need to check with the dealer to make sure its been done to the car I buy?

Cheers,
Rob

There's only been 3 recalls, first was for a dodgy batch of suspension arms that only affected a few early cars and a general recall for some extra heat shielding around the fuel tank, apparently if it's 90+ degrees and you sit revving the nuts off it for 30mins it might melt the plastic tank...or so some yanks claimed.
The recent PCM update is to help the earlier cars with start/flooding issues, yours should have been done during servicing.

Pop over to the rx8oc for all the details
