Recieved an NIP for doing 77mph in 50mph, it was an empty dual carriageway with barriers and all on a clear day. Do you think I will be lucky enough to get an offer of a fixed penalty or will it be a trip to court ?

Your first post and its for speeding... !?!

I think 77 in a 50 is going to be off to the court really.. although you are under the mystical 30mph over the limit line so who knows...

Cheers,
Matt.

I got nailed for 74.1mph in a 50 recently and it was just 3 points and 60 quid.

The only thing is I was on a motorway with a 50 limit and the code on my lisence is an SP50 (as opposed to the more usual sp30).
I don't know what difference this makes, maybe the officers who pulled me over had discretion, I don't know.

You are below 30mph over the speed limit though so I would expect 3 points (ie. an NIP)
