Damp Footwells

Hi, I have recently put my chim 500 up for sale and during an inspection today a prospective buyer noticed underneath the overmats the footwell mats appear wet/damp? I have no idea where the water is coming from as everything appears to be in order also with the recent dry spell to consider i cant imagine this water is recent. I initially thought it maybe something to do with the door seals but having had no visible leak trouble in the past i suspect it is coming through underneath the car somewhere?

If anyone knows of what this could be is there a quick solution?

Ahh have just noticed a reply on a different thread from VM regarding the above i presume this is my problem.

is the damp patch on the drivers side, i had the same prob, it was the seal that goes around the steering rack that had perished and water was coming through there
