Being a very proud TVR owner, I want to keep it clean... Knowing what a knightmare these cars can be when damp, I thought I best ask the question before taking a pressure washer to it...

I never ever use a pressure washer on mine. Nice & gentle with soapy Turtle Wax detergent.

You don't want to force water in where it shouldn't be. (Or blow in the rear screen!)

Don't use a pressure washer you could seriously damage your paintwork - get a mitt

Nice one, thanks - kind of suspected as much...

Am going to give it a good old clean at the weekend so will treat it with care!

Firt the pic needs to be hosted: say photobucket.com or good old uncle dave. Then if you hit the quote button on this post you'll see the format.

The roof seems quite stiff, so I didn't want to force it. Could be because it recently had a new rear screen and roof though... How much force should I use when trying to squash it down?

Don't squash it down, nice and gentle! Ensure there are no kinks anywhere when folding. I know some people like to insert a towel to keep it sweet..

You may find the rear of the hood goes down further/better if you pull off the velcro pads inside and out at each side just behind the 'roof hoop'. This allows the tension at this point to be reduced and will reduce the chances of tearing off the pads on either side.

I pressure washed mine once with a not very high pressure hose. It was great for getting bord crap etc out of the roof material. But still not a good idea, it caused water to get into the cabin, the boot and the wiper switch which I have had to replace.

Personally I wouldn't use a pressure washer on any car...

Our pressure washer came with a low pressure nozzle as well as the max pressure one. It's got more pressure than the garden tap but no more than the tap at a friends house.

It depends how you use it as well.
