fully comp insurance on my own car,

have to use a company car over weekend which means I leave my own car at work , drive company car, then pick up own car, car will be at work from Sunday night to Wednesday morning.

do I need to tell my insurance that the car over night wil not be parked at home on my drive ?

I never used to bother if i'm honest! If it gets stolen or broken into, you were working late at a client site in the company car so went home in it over night....

No. The insurance company only need to know where it is normally garaged.

I once had a job which meant I was staying in hotels everynight for over six months, should I have told my insurance company?

The job I am doing at the moment could result in my car being parked away from my driveway for more than half the year. I wonder how dificult a claim would become if it was stolen from a hotel carpark.

There's no reason for hotel car parks to have any affect on insurance. I had one stolen from a hotel car park on a job that was for more than six months. However the car was stolen on the first night and torched.
