I'm pretty sure the standard coils are more than up to the job

I've heard this too, most seem to think there is little to no point replacing the stock items.

Cost lots of money for red bling coils, that arent actually required.

The standard coils have been proven time and time again well in excess of 1000bhp.

they do exactly the same as the standard ones - however the standard ones are very expensive to replace in comparison.

i've definately got one on the way out so thought instead of trying to replace the one - do all at the same time.

if someone can provide stock items cheaper i'd be interested

I would give Monkfish performance a call. They may have some in stock.

I fancied a set of the MSD coils as well but a bit of research and feedback on here proved they weren't good for much more than a bit of show. Out of curiosity what you being quoted - best price I got was a little over 400 quid+carriage for the 8

I've not heard good things about the msd coils and you may need different connectors. ls2/7 coils are meant to be very good.

BTW marcevo, which coil type do you have. I have coils in stock, several sets of ls7 items and I should have some loose ls1 coils but there are several versions of those. I also have an order shipping from the US imminently.

have been told that ls7's will work on a ls1? mines a vt2 gts - havent got a clue which type they are? (any ideas anyone?) will have a look later.

been quotes £340 for a full set of msd's inc postage from the states (then add tax!)

Sockets and plugs aren't the same for differing engines and neither are the rail supports and sub harnesses. First off you need to determine if you have an ls1 or ls2 engine and go from there. Coils changed 3 times with the ls1. Otherwise you may buy something you can't use. Buying the sockets and converting the looms will ratchet costs up. I know a person who made this mistake and it cost him more in the end. My ls2/7 items are the coils mounted on the rails and with sub harnesses attached. I think they are same as ls2 but they certainly won't fit ls1.

If you have one dudd coil it makes sense just to change that. If you can send me a pic or part number I can probably get one next week if I don't have one in stock.
