Look thru some of the posts on splitters, several of us believe it helps in this area (some doubters as well)..

have you tapped the front of the bonnet on anything, mine did this it was because the fiberglass that is around the hinge at the front had cracked. i had to re fiberglass the hinge to secure it

You can see the bonnet catch is on the driver side, not central, so the left side has less amount to hold it, my bonnet bounced at high speed, a little on the driver side, a lot on the passenger side, the catch is adjustable. Loosen the bolts, move it down a tad and tighten it. Made a big diff on mine.

I don't have a splitter, been following the arguments for and against it and conclude that it won't make a big difference and will get torn off on speed bumps anyway. I notice in the service history on my car that's it was replaced once but was gone when I got her. Too many speed bumps round my way for me to try it.

Maybe if I spent a lot of time at 100+ I'd consider it, on the few tracks I've had it on 100 - 105 is max, for a few seconds at the end of the longest straight. On public roads, well, I have to admit I reach a ton very occationally, but to be honest, getting to a ton is great fun, over a ton, I can't afford to loose my licence, or the car, or me! ;-)

My bonnet used to flap about all over the bl**dy place, until finally it popped open at Bruntingthorpe at 145mph. The hinges wear, which lets the front flap about - easily cured, I think Offord charged me about £80 to reglass the bolts in. As for the rear n/s flapping about, I eventually had bonnet pins fitted to hold the damn thing down properly at speed.

The splitter doesn't get torn off on speed bumps as it is far enough back to be protected by the front wheels. Roads with grass in the middle (I'm thinking of Cornwall) and gravel tracks with mahussive potholes are another matter.

I fitted a splitter 3 weeks ago.

A speedbump removed it again last weekend.

Don't think I can be bothered to fit another one.

You might be alright with the full-size speedbumps, but it's the small ones you're supposed to get a wheel either side of, that will get you...

Last I heard, the didn't recommend getting a wheel either side of those as if knackers the tracking and wears the tyres unevenly. I always slow down and run one tyre over the middle. Plus it allows me to sprint between the bumps in 1st gear!

You might want to take a look at the roller/cams loctated on the inner wing.

My last car flapped a bit in the higher klepton range, investigation showed that it wasn't sitting tight on the rollers. Quick adjustment and they were sorted.
