Woohooo! 997TT joins the stable
Discussion
Wrong section I know, but I havent dared venture in any other areas of PH to date as it all looks a bit too much to keep a handle on!
But after much deliberation (well about 24 hours worth anyway!), I have binned the 997C2S daily smoker and a 997TT arrives tomorrow (hopefully, or early next week).
The Gallardo and 997TT should make for an interesting choice of transport on a daily basis.
Life is good.
ps. sorry I didnt go the usual PH Gallardo/430 combo, but I thought I'd be different LOL

Congrats Steve. Same fleet as I have
I also upgraded from a 997 C2S to the TT and it's a completely different car. I initially missed the wonderful sound of the 3.8 with PSE and found the Dyson dual cyclone noise emanating from the rear a bit odd but the sheer grunt of the car quickly overcame that particular issue
The TT truly is a stealth car as it doesn't attract any real attention whilst making rapid progress unlike the Gallardo which is a bit of a crowd puller at times. I can attest to the fact that the G cannot outperform the TT in the real world after carrying out a little test with a fellow P'header and G owner a few weeks back

Iv just been dropped off a 997 TT while my GT3 is being looked at for paint problems. Once getting home at 5pm by 9pm i was bored enough to take it out(slushtronic). I took my g/f out saying wait for the Turbo to kick in, she was impressed as it launched itself once i had the pedal flat out. I honestly thought it was very boring but very fast once it had registered i had the pedal down. Saying that if it was a daily drive there are a lot worse cars to be bored in but i am 100% glad i chose the 3 over the TT. My daily drive is now a Vespa 125, cant be beaten in the city........not by a car anyway....
Im sure the G will be the winner in the long run.

The manual doesn't suffer from much lag and the car performs even better if fitted with sport chrono which gives an overboost facility. Boring is certainly not a word I'd use to describe a TT...... refined maybe.

Yeah i ordered a manual originally and maybe i should have said i find the Tip Turbo very boring. It doesn't need much from the driver.
Actually when i pulled onto drive yesterday i looked through its window and said " Sh1t its a Tip " . If it had been a manual id of been out in it at 7pm.

Are you sure it wasnt a 996 TT tip?
Ive had more than an extended drive in a 997 TT tip and its totally different, lagless compared to my 996 TT X50 (manual)
I was actually amazed at how the tip dropped from 5th to 2nd in a split second when I nailed it at 40mph. There is no wat I would have considered a 996 tip but on a 997 it wouldnt put me off anywhere near as much.
"max power mode on" the 0-60 is quicker in a 997 tip than the manual "max power mode off
Steve I think you will really enjoy it, they feel really tight compared to the 996
