I've been told you can do this on an s1 by doing a certain procedure with the throttle.

I have no need to do this currently but wondered what it was in case the need ever arises.

switch ignition on (but dont start)
press and release throttle pedal fully (slowly) five times

it doesnt reset the whole ecu - just the throttle position and IACV I think, people recommend doing it after fitting any new mods like airfilters/CRP/exhaust etc

needed to do this when after fitting the bigger throttle body. As far as I know it only really affects idle speed and mixture. The ecu will correct itself anyway after a while so there is no point unless you have made changes as throttle body exhaust or anything that has affected idle. Mine was idling at 2700. Don't know if its the same on an S2 as these have a later MEMS ecu untit. This is covered in the lotus workshop manual

Piper verniers and belt
160TB

from my experience with the idle being fudged-up (due to recent spate of the battery running down) the s2 ecu seems to reset itself after being run for c.15mins and then restarted.

cheers

Both S1 and S2 have a self adapting ECU w.r.t idle control. The reset procedure is only valid IIRC on the S1 ECU.

Both will sort themselves out given some time without any intervention.
