Bonkers Pod Display
Discussion
The display in my Mk1 is displaying loads of characters and words where I don't want them. I'm familiar with the dying pod sequence of progressive lines across the display but I've not heard of this one. The regular info is still there but it's crowded by repeated text and numbers.
I'm reluctant to shell out 300 notes for a replacement when it seems to be doing its job of displaying stuff but I think it might be receiving the wrong stuff to display.
On cold mornings it has always told me the 'Pemperature', so I can forgive the odd spelling error.
My question is:
Has anyone had this fault and if so, how was it resolved?
Pete

There is a complete dash pod going for 100 quid on Ebay, might be worth you getting more info from the seller.
Got there before me Graham! I was just looking at that pod on ebay, reserve is not met yet though...

How much do they normally go for?
I bought one as a spare from Ebay mid last year and ended up paying 112 quid IFRC. Its in fine condition and the soldering of the components is good. Might be worth the authors while looking at this first. I know that some early cars did suffer from lousy soldering work during component assembly at the factory.
