Driveshaft CV boot replacement

Anyone done this? Is it a big job to get the DV joint out of the hub and off the shaft?

I know its a bit of a bodge but can you not get ones that wrap around, so it done in situ?

The procedure is in Bible 2. Biggest problem is braking Torx tools trying to undo the bolts. The earlier cars had smaller Torx heads and were not upto the job. Normal trick is to replace them.
