Before wheel refurbing companies anodyse rims on split rim alloys, do they diamond cut the rim first rather than just polish them? If they do, is this because it gets rid of any "pitting" that may show up when the rim is then anodysed?

Watchya Johnny.....certainly when I had mine done it was just a case of the rims being polished up and then anodised. You can get the rims anodised to whatever extent you require - i.e. the longer the anodising process, the less " polished " the rim appears and takes on more of a satin finish. Had mine done relatively lightly - enough to protect from corrosion but not sufficient to loose the polished effect.

Cheers.

Johnny, also depends how many times the wheels have been refurbed or diamond cut before as to how many times you can do it.

Edited to add this piccy I saw on a US Pork forum a while ago......maybe they took too much off during the refurb before trying to seal the tyre rim????
