Whilst I'm still waiting to tie up the purchase of an '02 996 TT in black/black (car will arrive once the current owner takes delivery on his new Aston towards end of this month), I've been searching insurance quotes all over and tried my existing provider (Tesco) and a few others including A plan & Egg.

Have been getting quotes for £1k - considering I'm 29 with 7 years NCB with 3 pts gained from last year with an SP30. A pretty good postcode with good previous record driving an M3 and Elise - is pretty good.

Then my dad suggested that I try Elephant and add him as a named driver (he's 49 with full NCB / no points) and was quoted £750!! I think I know who'll be getting my business when I pick the car up

Anyone else have had a lower quote? A bargain considering a thread a few days back when this chap (30121980) was running a Boxster for £5k insurance and his TT X50 is around £3k - he did have slightly more colourful driving record than moi and 19yr old..

Just got a quote of £539 on the TT from Admiral as part of a 3 car policy (about £785 covers 3 all cars on 12 month policies).

All cars include myself plus wife, and includes occasional business use and protected no claims. The Porsche is 5000pa estimated mileage and £250 voluntary excess.

Old bloke (46, clean license and no claims for 13 yrs), located Herts.

May have to go for that one !!
