I have tuscan type seats in my sagaris and dont feel they give as much support as they could . Anyone tried modifiying (ie taking some stuffing out of the back) or changing them. Tried to look for so called 07 sparco spec.( look the same as lambo gallardo) but no joy in locating. Any advice?

I like my original ones! Must be a minority fan. But 17000 miles and never a bit of seat pain or back ache.

I feel as the seat does not allow you to sit back into the seat enough and have not much side support.
Anyone now where the sparco's can be sourced?

Thanks for the pic Graham: I have the originals: I've sat in that type a couple of times and do not like them - personal taste or not - there is a big difference to me.

But, at some point, I want a four point hartness in - 'Ring driving requires that!!

I have new sparco's in my tuscan and to be honest they aren't all that. For taller drivers you can't remove the seat cushion which is a bit of old school british engineering genius that's lacking with the new seats. I've had to take the runners out of my seats and have them bolted directly to the floor just to get a bit more room. Removing the seat cushion on either the original sag seats like mine or the later tuscan ones improves side support dramatically too. it really works!

For serious track work though a set of proper racing buckets is where you want to be. To my knowledge and surprise no one seems to have fitted any in a sagaris yet.

Much prefer Tam/T350 seats to the Tuscan/later Cerb ones... they're much better for lateral support. Well, they are for me at least.

Two different models of seat plus the Tuscan style in latter ones. Richard you have Mk2 T350 Seats in your Sag.The difference is that the wings on yours turn in further towards your head. This mod was done as the original Tamora seat would touch the roll cage in the T350. When the Sag came along the seats that were lying around were put in or chosen by the buyer if they knew about the differences.I do like the seats in your Sagaris, however as you say a harness cannot be fitted due to height of seat.
I would love to see a Sag with your type of seat in it and a tailored cut out where the harness passes through. Surely a good project for DJC and your mota!

I'll be down at 'Power in the next fortnight treating the old girl to a service. Will take a closer look at the seats in his Sag and see if I can't try them out to compare with the Tam/T350/Tuscan types and report back if I get a chance.

Demon Tweeks are selling a new type of Sparco seat, in fibre glass and carbon, looks just like the TVR type, think they are called the Sparco Modena.

Strangely enough...

My design partner and I were musing over this when doing the new car designs back end of last yr. We settled on a pair of new Momo seats (that look awfully suspiciously like the same seats that subsequently turned up in the 8C) that allowed harnesses, looked seriously kewl and provided decent support. The Tuscan seats are crap when it comes to support and actually potentially dangerous for various reasons. Trust me on this, Ive had to sit through lectures about it and seating/support issues with relation to the bio mechanics of the body, etc. The "benefits" of having an Osteopath as your regular passenger!

Bob is correct about the original seats and issues with the rollcage. Ben Thompson reckoned he designed and fitted the original rollcage and seats and they wouldnt fit properly so the had to be tilted inwards. Strangely enough he didnt let on he had also anchored the roll cage in fibreglass and not the chassis! The switch to Tuscan seats was also allegedly done as they fitted without tilting.

So doing it now, it would be with the Momo seats we selected and put a 4 point harness around those. What I wouldnt consider doing though would be keeping the rollcage as it is. Money would have to be spent anchoring it properly.
