Isn't it possible that a new chain could alarmingly increase the wear of not new cam shafts' sprockets ?
To put it another way wouldn't it be preferable to replace the cam shafts as well when replacing the chain ?

You're absolutely right Thom. If the camshaft sprockets have already started to wear because the chain has stretched then just adding a new chain will not help matters, you need new cams as well at circa 350 quid each
Luckily my mechanic told me my sprockets were 100%, my chain had minimal stretch, and the plastic ramp was barely scratched. I suspect I was not the first to have it replaced
