Help needed chaps

Just taken a spin out to take a look at what is said to be a tvr 4.0 se i got there to find a smart looking wedge with a defo 350i front end and dash lay out but with the backward later style clocks and dials, boot spoiler and oz wheels not the latice type like my 350. Unfortunatly the owner was out so couldn't lift the lid to see the engine, it is a G plate, where any 400i made or do you think it is a bodge together job?. Also where can I check the reg on line ?

Wasn't wyn's old car a 400i .. 350i front end..

400i was not an official model by the way..

Checked on dvla site and it is a 3948 cc realy like to know what it is worth, It's a 1990 good condition (with out gettin under it)
with 3200 on the clock and they want £5000 .

It is red but not a nice red like my MOH didn't want to take piccy's without permission but plan on going back.

Prehaps it was a 350 SE. They had the 350i style body shape, 350i style dash, but with a 4.0 (ish) engine. Various wheels and combinations of boot spoilers were used, and the majority of them were around the "G" plate registration.

Thanks for that sounds about right any idea of value ie same as 350i or as 390 ?

Anyone tell me the correct cc for a 400se this one has 3954 according to the dvla.

3948 is usual for a RV8 4L (or 3.9 as in the Rangey).

HPi check is always a good idea if serious. Be nice to see someone avoid buying a non-disclosed repaired Cat D, for example. Or having some bargaining power if you really do want it.

O.k bit of a update, I have spoken to the owner and this is what he has told me. The car is a 350se limited edition origanaly had a gold pin stripe down the side with a small crest on each wing and the bonnett he bought it as a cat d rear end damage but panels only, it lived in south wales and had a private plate tvr 350s. He wants £5000 for it it will have 12 months ticket and the only thing wrong with it is the exhaust is about shot.

Ok then it's one of the 25 limited edition SEs. I would ask him what number it is. The badge on the door would have have a number on it.

Maybe if someone knows the car?

Ask the owner which number it is and if he has any proof to back up it is actually a 350se?

The guy says he has all bills back to the bill of sale so I hope there is proof there also the vin is suposed to show it is a se and it's number. What I need to know is is a good 350se worth £500 he won't take less.
