Hello all, now my new Chim is running fine and all that, but I like to do an interim oil change on my cars in-between services.

So, a few questions:

1. Where is the easiest place to get hold of an oil filter?
2. What oil is the best? (I know the bible states mobil 1 motorsport).
3. I have changed the oil on many cars, but read in the bible about a possible problem in that you may have to prime the pump if you are slow, is this the case?

by the way, it is a 5.0 1997 Chim.

Thanks

Lee

Providing you do not hang around once the oil has been dropped you will not have a problem with the priming issues as on pre serp motors.

That's right - in fact the critical time is when the filter is off.

Try to fill filter with as much oil as poss before you screw back onto the housing it will prime quicker and the car runs without oil pressure for less time, fill filter thru the centre port(threaded),the priming problem is only an issue on pre serp motors,so wont be a problem for your motor.
