Drove Caspys VXR600 at the VXR8 launch, and was suitably impressed, and I now have the oppurtunity of getting a virtually new 500, with most of the mods (A.Ps, Rip and exhaust already done), so to the 20 or so owners out there what are your thoughts on the car, good or bad points appreciated. They're obviously cracking value, reliable and as an "official"500 it has the kudos of the 3 year warranty. The bad points that I see ( if any) were A: it didn't feel as quick as I assumed ( although the engine is still tight), do they loosen up?, B: Couldn't find a decent driving position, and C;The possible depreciation.;Ta in advance

With regards to the seating position I agree that for me I still have not found the ideal adjustment that suits me, one of my reasons for buying the VXR8, as there is a little more head room, in the Monaro VXR I find that I keep on bashing my head.
When I have the right legroom I need the seatback further foward then I bash my brains out on the door pillar, must be that I am just an odd size. (6 foot and 15 and a half stone).
Did like the feeling of space in the VXR8 so will have to wait and see, not long now I hope.

I think the VXR500 is about on the limit of how far the car can go in standard set up - a good buy for a reliable car.

Start heading further up the power scale and the upgrades start to add up.

In answer to original question. Early days yet as 2,000 miles. on VXR500. Proving interesting as still have HSV GTS (which must soon find a new home). Power great I also have AP's also great. My neighbours will never forgive me for having Wortec exhaust.
Generally book a bit of a pain but can live with. Suspension main issue for concern, I am hoping to get the upgrade, currently under full foot to floor is a bit like a drag car lifting front end. It could alos really do with quick steering rack as on HSV. Probably you would not notice this unless you had driven one.
Question for Greens does the VXR8 have the quick rack?.
Generally a very entertaining car for both day to day and hooning.

I think the VXR8 does have a quicker rack than Monaro.
