Ok, here we go
Firstly, the car is a G reg 944 turbo. Its a lovely car, everything nice and tight, and a credit to it's previous owner.

This may be marque/model specific, hence asking the porsche boffins here....well...previous owners of these things.

When cornering very hard, just as the back end is about to slip out, there are very small vibrations through the back end, as if the back end is tramping very very little, however, this is enough to stop it slide, even with a spot of lift off yikes where we would expect a little step out, it holds it, and tramps a bit. This is only under major cornering, probably at the limit of grip (you know what it's like, have to push it a little).

Is this a specific of the 944 turbo? There are no bangs, knocks, or anything nasty at all, mine and 'numbnuts's thoughts are the shockers are requiring replacement. They are yellow, look ok, no leaks etc, so just thought before I dived in, has anyone else had this?

Thanks in advance folks,
Mike.

PS They go well though on max boost until the limiter shows its face though don't they.

I can't give you any specific 944 info, but I can tell you that when you bring a BMW into controlled understeer, you get strong vibration through the steering wheel. I suppose it's due to the grip-stick-grip-stick effect. What you are describing sounds similar, but at the rear.
