Not used them personally but I've heard mention of these before with regards to repairs or upgrades to the T5 www.gearboxman.co.uk/index.html

I use Bernie at CTS for my T5 race gearboxes - he has been doing Tuscan racer T5 rebuilds for years. I have one of his big gear kits in my current box

could you tell me what benefits a big gear kit will give me...... is it just lasts longer
Hope you get sorted. For anyone that's interested MAL at Trentside (Lincolnshire) is an awesome engineer. Has re-built many classic cars (including my Borg Warner box c/w an AP double racing clutch; which isn't the same as the Cosworth) and is widely respected throughout the classic car world. Mal's website is an interesting read, and even if you aren't in his locality, he is always willing to offer advice. www.trentsideclassics.co.uk/index.html

Firstly yes, Bernie, CTS, Gearboxman and Competition Transmission Services are one and the same
The big gear kit - basically the gears have fewer larger and therefore stronger teeth. In the Tuscan Challenge cars we tend to shred third gear in particular - the stronger the teeth the less likely a failure - the big gear kit can take a lot more torque

I'll bear that in mind for when the box goes boom
