Hi fergs, I'm down the road in Andover and have found that we're in a desert of no TVR dealers or indies. I've booked mine into Racing Green at Aldershot/Farnborough. Near to you, I think, is Henley TVR.

There's a Rover specialist here in Andover that I know but I read on PH (and in the 'Bible') that the TVR Rover V8 set-up is significantly different from other applications of the RV8 and so I'm taking mine to a specialist rather than a general Rover specialist. If you find someone locally with TVR experience I'd be interested to get in touch.

question:- how many chim drivers actually take their cars to tvr 'specialists' for servicing?

In my experience, TVR owners (unless they do the work themselves) use well tried and trusted TVR experienced mechanics (be they Main Dealer or Independents)...it need not be expensive...I use an excellent Independent garage in Bordon, Hampshire....APM Automotive...but may be too far from you:

I'm Andover as well - where abouts are you?

I take mine over to Fernhurst Motors near Midhurst - always good value and you get to drive the lovely A272 to get there so its win win. Everyone has their view on who's best and I have always found Fernies great.

I use a small garage called Frenchmoor Racing in West Tytherly around the salisbury area.

He always does a great job for me, and knows the cars very well as he used to own a Blue Chim himself.

As far as I know he has several TVR's on his books.

Give him a try if it is not to far for you to travel.

Bunglist, thanks for the tip. Think I'll give them a ring.

Quite a few locals here, expecially when you include the Basingstoke mob like Don. ALso get the West Sussex chaps popping over on a run to the Pheasant for Brekki once or twice a year on a Sunday which is always good for a laugh. I normally whizz accross to Midhurst to meet them and then track back to the pub and then off home.

Haven't been out much recently - 18 month son old sees to that but hope to get out soon, maybe we should sort out a midweek meet, maybe down to the White Hart at Wherwell as thats a nice place with good beer and a friendly landlord
