Just a quick answer to your questions though...
Cruise control - I believe it is possible - but not sure why you'd want it.
Hard top - You'd need a hard top fixing kit, you cant just put a hard top on the roadster version. Some pop up on Ebay and you can buy them through dealers and a few other places, they're not cheap though.

Fixing kits are supposed to be difficult to fit. I've got an s2000GT and I love the hard top - its like having another car when you put it on. I only have it on for a few months of the year though.

How do all you think of the s2000 then? i've wanted one for the last 5 yrs or so. Test drove one last year and that comfirmed that I just had to get one. Was getting used to a citroen berlingo work van haha

It's certainly available on the S2000 in the US (not sure whether it's an option or standard) but I don't know whether it could be retrofitted to a RHD car.
In 4 years and nearly 60,000 miles of driving two of them (including a fair amount of motorway driving), I can't say I ever personally felt the need for it.
Well it certainly isnt available in the UK, I would forget it.
The car is quite fantastic as you probably know. I wouldn't bother about the hardtop because the soft top is very good and you have a glass not plastic window anyway. I am stuck for space to put my b. hardtop now the good weather is here.

Truely superb car. Recommend to leave it unmolested. Exhaust note is sweet and any power gains you make could be offset with reliability issues (after all, how many other road cars rev to 9000rpm as standard?). Many of the Spoon parts are now unavailable for this very reason (Honda are very proud of their reliability record).
If you want to make it different go with the premium interior and the subtle but noticeable body kit. And enjoy! Prob one of the best 2 seaters ever made (I would say that I work for Honda).

The OEM exhaust is pitiful! HKS is a popular aftermarket exhaust for the S2000, or maybe the Invidia if you like it REALLY loud (too loud for me, if it was to be an everyday driver).
You won't release much extra power with an exhaust or filter - it's pretty highly tuned anyway, although single exhausts tend to give better gains than duals - but there are filter/induction options if you're just after noise. PRM and AEM are popular aftermarket intakes that add a bit of induction noise.
