Mine is the standard 3.3 H6 - chucks out about 230bhp (when it's running)
There are guys in the US who've messed about with turbocharging and supercharging them. Biggest problem is space in the engine bay, it's pretty cramped in there. Also with the oil cooler and positioning of the rads, inter-cooling isn't really an option.
I'd like to swap my fudge-based autobox (hence why it's not running) for a manual 6 speed STI unit, but funds and time don't currently allow.

I'm sure it is all possible - If I had one - I would do it - HOW HARD CAN IT BE.... There are guys in the US who've messed about with turbocharging and supercharging them. You have to modify the pedal box, and fabricate some new transmission mounts - the bell housings are compatible.
A swap for a twin-turbo motor and transmission from a Legacy GTB might be a better proposition, with the right tweaks, 350bhp isn't unrealistic.
true - the easy option - make it so. A swap for a twin-turbo motor and transmission from a Legacy GTB might be a better proposition, with the right tweaks, 350bhp isn't unrealistic.
