I'm starting to get fed up with all the hype around LH!!!
Yes he's looked bloody good in the McLaren so far this season, but it is one of two chassis out there which are ahead of the rest, although the BMW looks like it wants to join the party. If his racing career had started in a Minardi like Alonso's did, would we all be raving about him today?? Me thinks not.
All this talk of is he better than Senna or that German bloke are beginning to piss me off. It is soooo typical of the cheap and lazy style of tabloid jurno's who have no knowledge of the sport but find it easy to put pen to paper and come up with cheesy headlines to sell the shite they do. I can just see the headlines when LH has his first minor off and a DNF...
Going off subject slightly, look how they dealt with the Prince, they were all writing about a date for the marriage, now they are taking them apart – for
sake, what is it about this countries media – but then I guess there are many millions who read this kind of crap!!
Leave the guy alone and just enjoy it for what it is - one of our Brits in a top performing car...
As for the ITV team ass licking him at every opportunity on screen, it makes the build-up and qualifying painful to watch!

The boy does have talent and can race, but its the old addage, a good car can flkatter a driver, a great driver can improve a slower car.....unless its a Honda. I hope that LH wins a few GP's and its good to see a Brit doing well in a British designed and built car.
Depends which chassis the 'Honda' is attached too and the driver. Look at the McLaren-Honda partnership. Maybe they should stick to building engines and leave the chassis to others.
Look at their road cars. The VTEC engine is a solid piece of engineering, but apart from the S2000 what else can get you excited about Honda cars these days?
Oh and the point about a good driver improving a slow car is sooo right - look at Senna during the McLaren Ford & Pug years. He was able to put that car into positons that his team mates couldn't - a true genius who's still sadly missed by many of us, even today...

Wishful thinking Kevin. That'll never happen. The media panders to the masses by dumbing down all editorial content, and there is no such sport that caters to those more frequently than football, both on and off the field
The trouble is...
It's every where! Turn on the radio and the sports reporter goes on about him. Pick up a motor sport magazine and he'll be in it. Sat down to watch BBC1 news this lunchtime and guess what!!!
Mansell mania came about through him building up a long term rapour with the fans track side, you only have to see how we reacted on the circuits when he won, before the PC and health and safety brigade stopped the track invasions.
I've never said anything negative towards his driving, and I'll say it again - that from his 3 racers so far (not forgetting his performaces last year on track) he's a bloody good driver and thankfully he's been mated this year with a pretty good car too, but the way this country's media has reacted is just a tad over the top don't you think?

I've been following his progress for the last two seasons and without doubt, this kid is the real deal.
He dominated the F3 Euro Series in 2005 and made monkeys out of many highly rated drivers in winning GP2 last season... his performance coming though the field at Istanbul was for me the drive of the season.

and he had the most memorable drive at silverstone, more people talking about his drive in gp2 than the gp.
Although he's got a good car so its always easier to shine when you're near the front, its not the points / positions thats the impressive bit, its the fact that he's pretty much matched Alonso from the off, and put him in the shade yesterday. If the Mclarens were 2s off the pace racing round with the Hondas it would still be a huge achievement for a rookie to be doing that to the current double world champion who is considered the best of the current generation.
The press coverage is entirely predictable but entirely out of his control, but no doubt he'll get mis-labelled with the "over-rated" tab within a few months just like all F1 drivers who get media coverage whether they like it or not.
