or is it completely dead

last website entry is below
www.tvr-eng.co.uk/news.php

Can you order a new car? When would it be delievered?
What do dealers think is going on.
What have they been TOLD is going on?

I have asked a couple of dealers, the answer ranged from don't know, to don't know?

Just curious now really..

Next car is either an Xk140 roaster, or Gallardo (spyder if they ever get any cheaper)

I would consider it dead. You can't buy a car from TVR, the dealers are diversifying, what ever happens (if anything) in the short term will be aimed at the US market. TVR 'The British Bulldog' is gone until the current American owners get tired of it and sell it back to a good old Brit.

I spoke to Jason Oxley last week to be told that my order (from last August) should be delivered in June (presumably 2007!) and that the next fortnight would reveal further details including a precise delivery date. Having said that this is far from the first time I have been told that more info will be available in the next week / two weeks....only time will tell.

Heard from my dealer that all the production equipment is already setup at Bertone's and that new cars (Tuscan, Sag) are expected end of this year/early next year. It's taking so long because the UK government isn't happy with how things have been handled so they are blocking/stalling the proces.

I know for a fact that the stuff is currently in storage in the UK waiting to be moved to wherever....

He's obviously been talking to Oxley Jnr as well. Has your dealer got customers with deposits he's trying to keep happpy (cynic mode)

Someone I spoke to recently who has been in the factory said he'd be surprised to see anything this year or indeed in the early part of next as well.

Someone posted on the Spotted thread about an 07 plate TVR seen recently, so I guess something is/has happened?

Means nothing. That's going to be an unregistered car that has been sat around at the dealers - somebody has bought it and it now has 07 platers on. Reg plates have no relevance to when the car was built, simply when it was registered for the road.

Fernies have a 56 plate T350 which they bought from Gatwick when it closed. That car was sat at Gatwick unregistered since late 2005, so would have been built in 2005. Fernies obviously registered it to get it cheaper or avoid transportation costs when they bought it.

The same goes for DM's 'New' yellow saggy they have for sale. It was built mid 2006, but if it gets bought now it will get a 07/57 plate when registered.
