For various reasons I have to leave my 430 in Lugano for 2 1/2 weeks at the end of May. Does anybody know of a car storage company in the area?

And please no wisecracks about one of you guys coming out to drive it for me for a couple of weeksrolleyes

Most long term storage places will only take a car for a minimum of a month. So your best bet is a secure covered parking space at a 5 star hotel. If you stay 1 night you can usually pay and leave your car there for a couple of weeks or so. Most of the 5 star hotels have carparks full of exotics and have CCTV and 24 hour guards, so better than airport parking. not the cheapest option, but if you can afford to park a 430 in lugano then you are hardly a welfare case rolleyes

try the usual suspects, hilton, radisson etc, failing that speak to the local fezza stables, if they have enough space they can sometimes be amenable to taking care of your donkey for a week or 2 for a fee.

OK I have resorted to leaving the car in a hotel garage.

Next question. I normally leave the car on a battery conditioner but obviously I won't be able to do this. Is the battery likely to last 2 1/2 weeks? I know if I leave my TVR for more than 8 -10 days it's push start time.

Why not set the battery disconnect? Then you'll have no worries.

Doesn't on the older cars - there's a knob in the front boot for doing just that.

When you click it back on, you have to de-immobilise it (so security's fine) then when you fire it up you should leave it idling without touching the controls for 10mins (while the ECUs reset), but apart from that it's fine.

Might be worth a quick check with a dealer ref the 430, but I can't imagine it being a problem...
