Just popped into the local Hyundishite garage to pick up some parts for a mazda (don't ask) in the Chim.

As i walked out of the showroom into the parts dept, one of the salesman asked another of salesman whose the blue kit car was

When I first got my Tuscan, I took it up the local pub and some tosser asked me a few questions about it, and he made a comment about the Tuscan being a kit car - I really wanted to knock him out however, I kept my cool and a little later witnessed him leaving the pub car park it a clapped out Ford Escort Estate - say no more!

If somebody is'nt clued up on TVRs and drives an Escort, does that make them a tosser who wants knocking out?

One pub expert had mine as a Triumph 400. Don't really care what he thinks he knows.

Factory-built kit car. There's no more technology in a TVR than a fibreglass-bodied kit car but don't take that as an insult. An Ultima is a kit car which is rather aspirational, although it's better built than my Cerb. In fact, most kit cars I'm familiar with are better built than some of the older TVRs I've looked over. The newer ones like the Saggy's are good though. TVR fibreglass is pretty decent, although not the best in the business.

yes

I have to agree aswell
After selling my westfield to buy a chim there is'nt that much difference and westfield can build it for you aswell.
Rover engine,Ford brakes,Vauxhall switchgear............etc etc.
Do love it thou and the remarks it gets mostly good apart from the breakdowm comments.
So far so good for me

Dont knock it , on more than one occasion i've got into Stoneleigh Kit car show for free by taking the "Exhibiting Kit Car" lane...

Find a corner, park on the grass as a display and go and get a shandy - the Chim usually gets an embarrasing amount of positive attention whilst surrounded by the othe Kits hehe.

You'd get into too many arguments with people who know how they're built hehe

Years ago, I took the first "development" TVR 2.9 "S" to the Sandown kit car show (just putting some miles on it)! As I got into it in the car park, some old chap cast an admiring glance towards me and said "you've made a nice job of that, son"!

nono ah-a Scott. My view is from owning and driving them.

I fear that, as good and nice a car this current one may be, what I wanted from a car when I had my first Griff is not what I want from my car now ... so the decks were cleared last night with my long suffering and slightly bewildered when it comes to my car thang wife ... my search for another Ferrari is on

Finding the right one however may be another thing entirely!

Does it really matter a s**t?You own a TVR because of what it is,including all their foibles! If you cant put up with that then maybe a hairdressers car would be more suitable.
