Is it possible to fit 19" wheels to a Mini?

A black Cooper S Works in Buxton seemed to have 19s on.

even if you could it would be a daft thing to do
probably ruin the ride quality and the way it drives

Yes. I thought 18s on this one as standard was big!

Its possible with no mods, but why it will only drive like a dog. I had 18`s on for a while an it was ok, but i couldnt believe the difference when i swapped to lightweight 17"s

It'll be on its roof first time he takes it on a country road.

did it resemble a monstor truck, for me 16's are best 18's ruin the ride, a good compromise is lightweight 17's looks good and as Loui says the differnce from 18's is v noticable

I find the GP 18s fine. They are very light though.

The GP race series cars were fitted with 16's because the 18's were too skittish. I guess it comes down to how hard you corner. I've got a R53 Mini One on 15's and a R56 MCS on 17's and I assure you the 17's are far worse when cornering. Any slight unevenness in the road and the MCS bucks into oversteer, my Mini One does not suffer from this unpredictable behaviour. I have to admit though that the oversteer is exciting but that's not the point.

I think the R56 is twitchy on certian rims tbh, i had a R56 S on flames an on the limit found it very nervous at the limit, my current r56 S has the new JCW rims an is a totally different car, not at all twitchy on the limit, the only thing i can think is they must be lighter as i would have though smaller wheels would have helped

My Works GP has 18s as standard and handles very well indeed.

Remember i am talking about road use here, not a track car.
