E30 specialist in sussex/hampshire?

Hi, iv just purchased a 318is, needs some tidying up, i want to get it in somewhere so they can take a look and see whats what under the skin of it. would also like to hear from any other E30 drivers, keen to find out what to look for and where to get bits etc.

What car, where are you located and what work do you want done, ie bodywork, engine rebuild, performance improvements, basic servicing etc?

I didn't say they were the best but I would trust them implicitly; personally speaking. I have bought two cars off them and they have been the best and most reliable bmw's I have owned (and that's a few now!).

I am sorry to say that my opinion differs from yours and I can point you in the direction to some very experienced owners who would differ with you experiences hugely. In my opinion there are better specialists to be found, but ML have a name and that can fool some of the people some of the time.

well im near chichester so saddled between portsmouth and worthing. tried E-Tech, they didnt seem to know much, and when i asked if they could take a quick look at it and tell me if they saw anything nasty they just quoted a inspection 2 service!

Ummmm, munich legends ........barney and his dad certainly know how to charge for things that is for sure. Not sure if I'd use them for anything else though after i bought two short shift kits for my old E30 M3 from them and they both broke in exactly the same place due to poor manufacure/design. when i complained and asked for my money back it got a bit nasty and took ages for me to get a refund out of them.

personally i'd say if you can travel use nigel moseley @ telford, or i hear good things about bexeley motors. failing that most local BMW indepenants are pretty good with older BMW's.

ACE Automotive in Wisborough Green West Sussex tops my list for what you want, followed by Chris Plummer in Aldershot or PBM in Ditchling and also Williams Automotive in Ferndown. EM-Tech in Sailsbury would also be worth some time too. Give them a ring and let us know the feedback.

Go and ask on the E30 zone www.e30zone.co.uk/ I'm sure there was a decent specialist in the Portsmouth/Havant area someone mentioned on there a few years back...it's been a long time since my E30 went.

Have a look at Bartley - in Totton, Southampton.

Not very local to me but I highy value their work and expertise in everything BMW!!! Very friendy and helpful. Explain everything in EnglisH!!!

They do courtesy cars and while you wait on some jobs (cafe there and close to local town centre etc) so I have never had an issue being away from home/work area.
