Hi folks,
After being stuck in nightmare traffic yesterday for a couple of hours, the car is behaving differently this morning.(944 turbo btw)

Steady acceleration is no problem, however, heavy right foot makes the car hesitate, with a definate flat spot until it gets to approximately 3000 ish revs, and then it's fine, off it goes on full boost. There was no such flat spot prior to being stuck in traffic.

? pipe split
? vacuum pipe
? turbo knackered
? electrical
? fuel problem

There is no smoke - no nasties, just a flat spot. grumpy which, I don't like.

Not being used to turbochargers, and previously working on a chimaera (which was dead easy) I am dreading the fact the turbo has munched itself somehow and as it's the only thing on the car that is original I'm thinking the worst.

Still like the car though, it's grrreat.

Thanks in advance....

Occasionally when cold mine overfuels and this feels very flat before the turbo comes in at whic point it fels fine again. Best let a specialst have a look.

The vaccum hoses are rubbish, but tbh when mine have come lose it usually feels weak when boost is on, not at 3000

Check hoses etc for any sign of leaks and diveter valve, make sure it can hold vacuum (replace, cheap enough)....if there are leaks, this effectively makes the turbo work harder, so that when it does come into play, you feel more impact...as it were.

Well.....
All hoses, lines and obvious stuff checked.
Upon whipping a plug out it looks like it's a bit lean....has anyone a picture of the allen type adjustment (down the hole) in the airflow meter as mine looks rounded so will be a bugger to fiddle with - it looks like a 4mm key.

So, I'm doing cheap first, dizzy cap, rotor arm, and plugs - then leads.
