Lucas fault code reader

Does anyone know which one is the original ECU in a 98 Chimaera? Is it a Lucas 14CUX type V8? And which fault code reader is needed to interrogate it?

Yes, the original ECU is a Lucas 14CUX. The simplest fault code reader is the Lucas 17EM, part number PRC7067. Other more expensive professional diagnostic systems are avaiable but they are expensive. An example is the Rovacom Lite.
