satnav for motorbike and car
Discussion
I've searched through all the posts on this subject before and wondered if anything new had come along or any special deals.
I need a satnav that will work on the motorbike and in the car. It needs to be waterproof and ideally have an earphone socket. Don't much care about anyother features such as bluetooth and all that but the ability to define POIs (specifically speed cameras) would be very useful.
I was looking at the Garmin Quest 1 but then read you couldn't define POIs for it. Then I found an advert suggesting that it came with a speed camera POI database and became slightly confused. Can anyone shed any light on that.
The reason I like the Quest 1 is price and don't really want to pay twice as much if I can't justify it.
Any pointers would be most welcome.
Thanks,
Mark

You need the Quest II for speed camera POIs.
Try looking for a Garmin 2610. However these are still quite large overall, require hardwired power (no battery) and can often be imports which can be a problem if they go wrong because Garmin insist they are returned to the country of origin for repair.
I've recently got a Road Angel Navigator 7000 which is waterproof, quite small, touch screen that works with gloves on and includes the 'safety camera' etc, information. Whilst billed and frequently advertised as 'ideal for motorcycles and scooters' it does not have an audio output socket. Depending on your point of view that is either a nuisance because you have to look at it or great because you're not getting distracted by almost continuous commentary.
