Hi All,

Need a rough ball park figure for a friends small (2 staff) music company.

Pages for artist bio/discography/press/discography/images

They have 5 artists in total.

Total pages on the site is about 75 .

Also timescale - Time to completion and hosting costs. Prefer Apache.

Thanks.

I'll have my designer drop you a mail..

As for hosting.. could be anything from £100 a yr for virtual, to a few £k a year to Dedicated, through to £x0k a year for High Availability, High Security, High Redundancy 100% SLA Uptime setup..

Hosting is like cars.. you can buy an old Clio, it will perform like an old Clio, but you will still be able to drive on the same motorway as a Ferrari... just not as fast, as nice, or as well.

If the budget is there for a better car, then you'll always benefit from spending it

As you're already a fellow Register1 brethren you'll know what Reg1 offers, however if you want to see the Managed 'Big Boy' side of my business drop me a mail.

Check my profile if you want to chat more.

Check out www.joomla.org

It's free CMS, open source and if you have the time and basic skills well worth a shout

Thanks gentlemen,

I've recommended Joomla and several other opensource CMS .

The trick is to identify your requirements , find the closest match and then customise to suit your needs.

I'm a bit busy at the moment (I'm a web developer) so I thought I'd pass some extra work on to a fellow PH'er.

Will discuss options with my friend.

Just to add my vote on Joomla! I love it, and use it way too much. It makes life so easy, especially being able to create new pages when you're nowhere near your own PC.

These are two of mine:

www.timvw.co.uk This is done in Joomla, but of special note is the "hand written" font. This is done on the fly, with shockave.
www.hunnybeez.co.uk Joomla! with a magazine add-on, this one also interfaces into a forum, an Amazon shop and a games arcade.

Hi

I can create this for you for a good price, as I have already developed the framework for one of my own sites (link on profile).
