Your advise on new Spark Plugs?

I have just read an advert in motor-world catalogue for Champion Sprk plugs EON range and this is what they said, "The power of accelerated development has created a revolution in spark plug performance. The new Champion EON. It's ribless C7000 insulator. As used in Formula One. Is just one of the seven major technological advances."

They list the Lotus Esprit as EON 5 for £19.99 for a set of 4. Has anyone used them? Is this old news? Is there another plug that people recommend and how much?
I haven't got a clue as you can see, so please help me out here.
