Hello all

Advice / Recommendations needed

I want to get the set up and handling sorted on my griff as it is a 1993 model and needs a little tlc !!

Looking for the usual shocks, U J's, bushes , Arb's etc to improve the handling as much as possible this year with a view to the tvr power supercharger at the end of the year.

I am based in central scotland so really would like someone who will give me a good level of service and advice hopefully without having to drive down south !!!! although the sun is shining today and it is tempting.

I am struggling to find someone so any pointers much appreciated

Thanks all

Ty

Hi Mark H

Noel no longer works here :-(

He has gone off to sunnier climes to work with race teams etc

He was my number one choice as he used to come to all the central scotland tvr meets here at Broomhall Castle

Shame as would have been good to get it done locally

Thanks tho

If anyone thinks they could do all that in 4 hours they would need a far stronger straight jacket than mine

You may well be looking at 40 hours work allowing for seized components / misc problems then setting everything up.... Don't underestimate the scope of the undertaking!

yikes he said he was leaving the supercharging until later in the year!

Seriously though - 6-8 hours for the bushes ... do the ARB at the same time, so maybe add another hour, plus an hour for the GEO.

40 hours seems a very scarey estimate Dave, you sure?

well it took 5 fecking hours for me to change the last shock (NS rear) and upper wishbone at the weekend.
Alright, take off an hour for me farting about shoving waxoyl on everything that doesn't move, and another for having to clean the original wishbone bolts (pillock forgot to buy new) and get off the floor 850 times to get the only damned tool I didn't have on the floor with me.
So 3hrs for 1 rear shock and the upper wishbone then. Front end was a shed load easier so I'd say 1hr per side.
Thats 8hrs for me as a very amateur tinkerer.
I'd add at least another 3hrs to do the other wishbones if it was done at the same time while all the tools are out.
And another hour for jacking up/taking off wheels etc.

12hrs = shocks and wishbones changed by an amateur.
If you get into 'while I am in here I might as well....' mode, you can add weeks to that though.
