After reading this thread www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&t=380869 I was wondering who cycles the furthest roundtrip to work each day? I currently do Leamington Spa to Cov 3 or 4 days a week. It's a 25 miles round trip.

Any more for any more?

Used to do Holloway to Streatham everyday - 10 miles each way and they were very erm... exciting miles!

Now I run 4 miles to work instead (usually).

10.1 each way (quite average by standards here), not driven to work since Easter.

Living near the coast quite often its head wind both directions irked hehe

Mine's only ~5 miles each way, but I know what you're saying with the head winds!

I walk about 10 meters. Traffic on the landing can be tough in the morning, but at least the roof means the weather isn't an issue.

When I worked in Kingston I used to have a round trip of about 38 miles. I only did it 4 days a week, as on the Monday I had to drop off a weeks worth of shirts!

Are you mad? Waste valuable sleep time?

Actually it's the only way I can motivate myself to do a morning run

16.5 miles each way (sorry mk1fan !) into westend from the southeast suburbs. A bit slow last couple of days, still aching from Hell of the North Cotswolds,.

I don't ride it as often as I should really, mainly because Im crap at getting up in time.

But when I do, its about 5 miles, do it in 20 minutes ish. Not bad considering its nearly all off road, and I wheelie, skid, and bunnyhop off nearly every undulation on the way!

Think I owe it to myself now to come in on the bike tomorrow don't I?!

That's it, I'm adding a 0.6 diversion on to my route.

Mine is 13.3 miles each way. I'm desperately trying to get under 50 minutes time in motion*, but so far the best I can manage is 50 minutes 23 secs. I'm pretty chuffed with that, considering it was taking over an hour when I first started. It's pretty much all flat, which is good, seeing as I'm a fat old knacker!

There's also not much in the London suburbs to beat cycling through Richmond park in the early morning mist before the car gates are opened

* In case you're wondering, I have to measure time in motion, as I cross over 3 level crossings on the way, so actual door to door time is meaningless

Only in one direction...!

Na its a relatively easy route though, fast bridleway. And I'm sweating like a bastard when I get to work - I just get the buzz and put the hammer down... Usually come screaming through the car park and pull a big swinging endo into the bike sheds. Then a power wheelie through the gate on the way out!

Just over 4 miles each way but now the days are longer I have a longer 8 mile route home which avoids Handy Cross roundabout (Junction 4 of M40 for those outside Bucks). Always scares the life out of me.
