Can anyone tell me the boot size/capacity of a Boxster? Have searched on the internet and all I can find is the 987 which I know is larger then the 986. Cheers.

260 litres shared over two boots. One in the front which is deep but not very wide and one in the back which at its widest will take a set of golf clubs but is not so deep.

Suitcases do not go in - you will either need Porsche's expensive fitted luggage or (as I did) buy some squashy bags.

The Mrs and I have been on holiday for a fortnight and carried everything with us no problems at all.

If you have a specific item you need to get in it I advise visiting a trader with said item.

Yep, there isn't much you can't fit in with a little imagination this side of a Super-king sized bed and matress from Ikea.

Hell now the weather's on the up you can even pick up that vital garden bentch from Focus and get the mrs to hold it

The largest 'long haul' 32kg style suitcase don't go in but almost all normal ones 'short haul' 20kgs ones do.

Apparently you can get two squashy golf bags in the back but you have to take the drivers out of the bags first and put them in the rear trunck before putting in the bags containing the other clubs.

I'm amazed at what you can get in a 986 but I was surprised to hear that the 987 capacity is slightly larger (anyone know the figure and the splits?)

I know the 987 has no spare wheel in the front but I've peered in one and thought that it appeared to have less useable space! Did they beef-up the frontal impact crash structures in front of the bulkhead or is the (space for the) PASM gubbins in there somewhere, as well as the HiFi amp / changer which used to be more exposed?

I have used my Boxster to go skiing for a week (Roof Transport System) for the skis and an ideal heated storage room for the boots in the back!

Just don't keep your chocolates in there on the way home as they will melt. Front or rear, it makes ni difference as the front gets hot too beacuse of the heat from the rad/coolant system and the amp.

Agree that a smaller rigid suitacse will fit front boot, same size as 911 boot, but be careful to avoid big wheels on the case otherwise may be a tight squeeze.

Golf clubs fit the back boot, removing your big fat bertha's or equivalent, and on the presumption that your electric trolley is back in the garage.

Only if you are talking 2WD 911s! The C4's front boot is about 1/3rd less deep due to the front diff etc. and this means a regular 20kg hard case cannot be dropped in (vertically, at least).

Bought a hanging basket today (plus copy of Autocar) and put it on the passenger floor - bad idea as it was cone shaped and rolled around all over the place!

Bit of lateral thinking and et voila!

Well spotted, Flow99. Pulled into nearest layby for a few moments to re-arrange before heading home!
