So if I go and buy some (mainly track day only) leathers, what are the pros and cons of Two peice vs single suit?

Are the only differences the blindingly obvious...number of peices...

If you're skinny like me, you look like even more of a spanner in 1 piece leathers than 2 piece

I prefer two piece as I often want to wear the lowers with a textile jacket on the road, and it's also convenient when you stop anywhere if you wear both bits.

2-piece leathers are only as strong as thier weakest component, ie the zip, hence why 1-piece leathers are seen to be the better option.

I was vearing toward two peice exactly for the comfort aspect (as you say - can take jacket off and keep trousers on). Hadn't thought about how silly I'd look in one aposed to the other...

For track use I'd definately go 1-piece. For general use 2-piece is probably the more 'convenient' option.

I have 2-piece, but will definately be going 1-piece next as I suspect I won't give a f@ck about convenience come the day I come off on track (and its gonna happen at some point).

Track - 1 piece
Road - 2 piece

Logic being that on a track if you come off you are most likely to slide at high speed for long distance without hitting anything hence abrasion resistance and strength are of paramount importance (i.e any zips to joins could fail, or if the 2 seperated either could ride up/down and expose bare skin)

On the road a crash is likely to result in impact pretty quickly with either another vehicle, roadside furniture, kerbs or trees etc in which case the abrasion strength is not so critical but comfort and convienience is king.

This is why you will be needing a van!! take home all the bits.

I would seriously consider 1-piece over 2-piece as they are stronger no doubt.

The new technik is only £300 for a great suite, do not worry about flash colours get the best fit.

Let me know if you are up for Mallory and if you want to share the van.
