Yet another reason to own a TVR

Randomly found a spreadsheet that calculates (approximately) the running costs of your car based on depreciation, servicing, petrol costs and so on.
I put the figures in for my Chim, and then again if I'd decided to get a new euro box for similar money when i got mine a year ago, and guess what, the Chim was 33p per mile cheaper to run

Brilliant!
Just what I need in my current plot to persuade Head Office that she really needs the mint Nogaro Blue V8 Audi S4 my mate is flogging over another tedious woodburner. Depreciation is the killer on tinboxes. Ive long maintained you can have loads more more fun and even maybe save cash by driving fruity motors
.
Head office is still having none of it however.....

Just worked it out for my daily Sierra bought in 95 by my father his old company car (92' plate car with 140,000 miles on clock for £1800),car now done 210,000. Next to nothing spent, own servicing nearly all original ,worked out at £0.08 !.Now the TVR was not far off , but that's another story !.So there its if you want cheap motoring get one of these, it actually good fun to drive in the wet after modern cars as it has no road holding and makes the TVR feel quite friendly.
I had to rush my son to the Hospital the other day in the dry and my wife said ,what car are we taking as there was four on the drive, there was not even a moment of hesitation as in the dry lanes with no whites line in Wales you can make these old cars hustle. Mind you it does have slightly stronger springs and shocks and I test drove thousands of them in there day , oh and no PAS. Its just that everybody thinks your skint ,and treats you like your some stupid arse who can't or wont afford road tax !, which i find quite amusing in a checking people out kind of way.

I use the PH blog. Doesn't come out any cheaper and I can't beat Chris's Tam even with the Chim. The Tuscan is even worse. I don't really count the cost either per year or per mile as it has introduced me to a whole bunch of nutters off the internet who have enriched my life (and a few I wish I hadn't met)
Hmmm..... About £0.66ppm for my Cerb, that'll do. That is of course assuming that now she's sorted nothing massively costly goes wrong. I've allowed £1,200 for parts on top of servicing charges (Assuming that all the new / sorted bits don't go wrong and bearing in mind that I save £1,000 every year or two by never paying for tyres)
