The Revenue have given an amnesty for anyone with an offshore account to declare it and pay the tax owed and ONLY a 10% penalty instead of the usual 100%.+ possible legal procedings.

Investers have until June 22, the Revenue expect this move will bring in £1billion+ (christ)

Oh well, i'm in the clear

I believe they do have information, many of the offshore jurisdications had to disclose the information otherwise they were going to be blacklisted.

They will probably charge you interest as well on any overdue amounts.

Time to cough up. If they investigate and find out you have offshore money they will then dig into the source of those funds, which could be evaded inheritence tax, capital gains........etc......a nightmare.

I was in with my advisers today, asking about any new offshore schemes, and any ways of rearranging my finance, and they pointed out that they will be giving up everything to the government about people who have offshore holdings with them.

I was only looking for legal places to mitigate the tax bill, but I assume plenty of people who have not been paying their dues are going to be squeezed a bit now.
