I have finally got round to wiring in a bee sting aerial to solve the rubbish radio signal. It works fantastic until i start her up then it fades in/out and crackles alot-turn engine off and ok again. Does any one know what can cause the interfence? The crackling does not change with speed it just sounds like the aerial has been unplugged. Thanks

How have you connected it? No use if you've just bolted it through the body, as you need a good earth connection, like the steel body of a normal car.

You can try running a thick piece of wire (or earth braid) from the body connection of the aerial to the nearest point on the chassis or roll cage that you can get to.

Otherwise it will work as you have described!

The negative feed from the aerial goes back to the iso connector on the stereo but i will try and find an appropriate earth on the chassis instead. Thanks.
