CBR600 is a better choice or a zx6r.. you will probably find the 400 too slow on the straights, quick through the bends but you usually end up stuck behind a bigger bike in the turns and can't pass on the straights... it gets quite fustrating after a while.
Some track bikes come without the v5, sometimes it's because the bike was written off in a road crash or it could be a stolen bike.. check for removed chassis numbers.

600 and 400's come up all the time at very reasonable costs -- being ex-race bikes they are usually fairly well sorted etc..
