How many road police?

Not enough by a long chalk, next.
why?
because the standard of driving in the South East, by which I include Gtr London, is the worst I see around this country, and you have to go a long way in Europe to beat it.
That area of the country has the highest rate of vehicles being driven illegally, on false plates, no tax, no insurance, driver with no licence.
Add in that the South East has probably the most crowded roads in the country and is also by far the point of entry for most foregn drivers and you have, with respect, a recipe for disaster.
To return the question, why are you always wondering if there is one lurking round the corner?

I take that all on board and think that is a very fair and just answer.
My reason for asking is the fact that i drive at speeds that i know are safe for the level of traffic and conditions. My cars are always road legal and my licence is truly precious to me. I am though always getting passed by other cars who seem to know something i dont, ie that there isn't many police cars on the road. I cant be more honest than that...
Yoyr question seems to tie in with a question that I asked on another thread but was never really answered, except by a BiB.
Do you change your manner of driving if a police car is near enough to observe you? If so, why - what was wrong with it in the first place?
This is a test that I use to assess my own standard of driving - would I do this if there was a police car behind me? I certainly spend more time looking at the speedometer!
