My requirement was the same as yours!

Do the same as Nickccc, me and a few others:
Step 1: Go and see Joolz at Track Car Solutions for his induction/remap magic.
Step 2: Fit the Silverstone Performance exhaust to finish off the job with a few more bhp and a great sound (Joolz can do the exhaust at the same time).

My 4.5 makes 420bhp, bang on the factory claim now. Nick's makes 440bhp, bang on the factory claim for a Red Rose 4.5.

Joolz's work on my car tranformed it - lifted the headline horsepower by 60bhp, MASSIVELY improved driveability (smooth pull from low revs, happy at steady low throttle openings) and it drinks less gas.

The SP exhaust means no track day grief with noise but don't be thinking it sounds muffled or stifled. The SP exhaust is tuned for performance and sound QUALITY.

I've had three Griff owners remark on the sound of my car now and at the last Silverstone trackday, some Mustang owners came over to remark on the sound down the pit straight. Given that the Griff and 'Stang guys have such great sounding cars, I was chuffed to bits to get that kind of feedback. At the 'Ring, a photographer came and found me in the paddock to ask what was different about my Cerbera as he thought it sounded amazing coming out of the second carousel. Thanks to Nickccc's flybys on the European motorways, I now know what they're on about. Sounds good in the car too ...and you can hear yourself think/take phone calls!!!

You can see Nickccc's induction pipes and my exhaust in the opening frames of this video

Phil have you fitted a system yet to a 4.2 and if so did you do any pre and post power runs? Was just checking out some trackday silencers for mine and looks like I am jiggered as not only are my pipes quite big (which can be bypassed by having some bespoke ones done by ACT) but they are actually a slight oval which is more of a problem. Might have to just accept a change of system if I am to have something I can take on track/Vmax/Ring - I can attest that they do sound great.

The red car that the system was first photographed on is a 4.2. It gained a few bhp and it is a bog standard car - in conjunction with a remap etc. you'll be able to optimise the whole set up.

The SP system includes linked decats, so save the cats for mot time, The fit is far better than the old system, which look like pea shooters in the cut outs.
Also Sports pipes are a bad design, too much weight hanging on the rear welded joint, which as I am shure owners will agree don't last all that long. Add aset of trackday silencers and a good thrashing and you'll be lucky if after a few trackdays you havn't snapped your rear pipes off.
It may cost more initaly, though will last much longer a good few sets of sports pipes.
The noise as has been stated is far better, full sports and decats is too much, droning in the cabin, becoming tiresome.
Oh and iff you want the maximum gas flow/power then nothing beats it.

Get in touch with "Danger Mouse" on here, ex-TVR designer (possibly now working for them again) - I cant say how much he will charge, but I like alot of his ideas. His Cerbera2 sketches are pretty nice, not a fan of the front, but some of the rear concepts looked incredible.

I'd offer my services (currently third year Automotive Design student) - but im a little busy at present.

cheers nick, appreciate it

i like the noise of my sports pipes though and the noise in the cabin isn't too bad really.....can happily hear what i'm thinking

although i like it to be noisy too when i hit the loud pedal to upset people

will have to think about it...
